About Me

Welcome to my Blog,

I work as an Agile coach and/or delivery lead for large projects and  have had the good fortune to have accumulated ten years consultancy experience in blue-chip companies, covering a range of industries nearly exclusively in an Agile context.

I’ve worked in and with teams to ensure that they are able to get the best out of themselves through successful adoption and exploitation of the opportunities the Agile movement offers. Currently I coach, but have, and can, turn my hand to business strategy, project management and analysis including contract negotiation.

As a CSP I have given Agile Instruction to Client business representatives and more thorough SCRUM Training for development teams, Business Analysts (focusing on culture and User Story writing/BDD) and Product Owners (looking at incremental Product management, User Journey Management and Backlog refining). Note all the training was unaccredited before the SCRUM alliance send lawyers after me….
I am passionate about the Agile philosophy and have been involved in many transformation programmes from Waterfall to Agile, with the scars to prove it. I have worked as Coach, Scrum Master BA/ test team member and as proxy Product Owner. I have extensive experience of enabling both nearshore and offshore Agile models and understand the balance of process vs empowerment, generally distributed agile, and it’s limitations is one of my specialisms.

I have my opinions based on experience of Scaled Agile (who doesn’t) which can be summed up as “no one size fits all” and don’t scale unless you have to. SAFe, LeSS, DaD etc – context is critical and please focus on principle over process, each does have a good case, most are misunderstood and misapplied.

I am a regular at London Agile Meetups, European conferences and discussion forums. I have hosted sessions at Scrum Alliance gatherings and have given external talks in UK, Poland, Ukraine and India.
